Microsoft has released an official version of its SkyDrive client for Android devices today.

SkyDrive allows Android users to access all files and folders shared in the web service and recently used documents. Microsoft is supporting multiple file uploads with its Android app, and other Android apps are also able to access files stored in SkyDrive.

Microsoft’s development team wanted to make sure the latest SkyDrive app “feels natural” for Android phone users. The new release, which is designed to “work best” with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), is still fully functional on Android 2.3 and above, Microsoft officials said.

Microsoft’s SkyDrive app is available from the Google Play store at no cost.
