The latest report from Net Marketshare reveals that Google’s web brower, Chrome, has seen growth in market share throughout August, while Internet Explorer (IE) and Firefox slipped slightly.
Chrome has seen growth from 17.16% of the market in July, to 17.37% market share in August, edging a little bit closer to Firefox, which sits on 18.21% market share for August.
After slipping below 20% share in May, Firefox looked to be handing over the silver medal to Google Chrome, although Firefox managed to hold onto second place throughout July and August.
IE, being the default browser for the Windows platform, still dominates with 48.73%, down 0.74% from July.
Safari, Opera, Android’s browser, and others make up the remainder of the market share
