Apple may face another patent battle if the iPhone 5 looks anything like China’s GooPhone.

The Android-based GooPhone is a purported build of the iPhone 5, based on early components leaked by manufacturers and third-party suppliers.

The Hong Kong-based replica-phone company has reportedly patented its GooPhone design, and claims to sue Apple if the iPhone 5 resembles it.

GooPhone’s argument is that its design is unique because it was done first and is the first to be released.

Apple is still currently involved in a patent battle with Samsung over patent infringements between the two companies.

Apple has announced that it is holding a press event on 12 September, creating the assumption that the iPhone 5 will be shown there.
