US teenagers are the first age-group to snap up smartphones as they hit the market.

Nielson’s recent study, which included interviews with 20,000 users, showed that young adults, aged 25 to 34, own smartphones more than any other age group (74% of the market).

However, teens aged 13 to 17 are the first age-group to acquire smartphones as they release.

“Interestingly, teenagers between 13 and 17 years old demonstrated the most dramatic increases in smartphone adoption, with the majority of American teens (58%) owning a smartphone compared to roughly a third (36%) of teens saying they owned a smartphone just a year ago,” the Nielsen study said.
