RIM won’t be showing the new BlackBerry 10 devices until early next year, according to the company’s chief marketing officer, Frank Boulben.

In an interview with Cnet, Boulben said that consumers will have to wait until 2013 before getting to see the BlackBerry 10 touch and keyboard smartphones.

The decision is presumably to avoid the busy period of phone launches surrounding the holiday season.

RIM is currently showing the phones to members of the media “behind closed doors”.
