Sharp has begun the production of 5-inch 1920 x 1080 displays at its factories, according to Android Central.

The development of a 5-inch display with 1080p means that the displays will feature 443 pixels per inch (ppi).

While the iPhone 5 only sports 326 ppi, a number of upcoming devices have been rumoured to feature 443 ppi screens, such as that of the HTC Droid Incredible X.
