Google has started sending out invites to an Android event that will take place on Monday, 29 October.

The event, which will happen in New York, isn’t detailed in the invite, with the words “The playground is open” being the only clue.

Speculation suggests that the event may be for the rumoured Nexus 4 device, but here really is no certainty on what will be shown.

Tech media and the general public will have to wait until 29 October to see what Google has up their sleeve.

The invitation also indicates that the event will be streamed live from the Android YouTube channel on the day.
