The percentage of users who upgraded to iOS 6 on their iDevices is at just over 60%.

According to analysis done by mobile advertising network, Chitika, on US and Canadian users, iOS 6 is now installed on more than 60 percent of devices, with 40 percent of users still sitting on previous versions.

Chitika reports that:

  • 25% of users are running iOS 5.1;
  • 9% are still on iOS 4;
  • 4% are running iOS 5;
  • 1% are running an older version of iOS.

The network also noted that some devices are unable to upgrade to iOS 6, including the original iPad, the iPhone 3G, and the third-generation iPod Touch.

“We expect small gains for the OS in the coming weeks, with the possibility of iOS 6 usage touching 70% once adoption peaks,” Chitika wrote in a blog post.
