Microsoft has announced that the Skype app for Windows Phone 8 will bring an “always-on” feature.
The Skype app will then always be active, allowing video chat options to always be active without manually activating the app.
The feature is expected to use no additional battery, as the app runs “seamlessly in the background”.
The extended integration of Skype into Windows 8 Phone is said to be due to Microsoft’s ownership and closer relationship with the developers of the video and online chat company.
