The IKONIK – X10 offers a liquid cooling option for advanced PC builders

Building a liquid cooled system is a costly affair but many regard the investment as worthwhile due to the benefits for both processor and graphical processor overclocking.

Liquid cooling also offers other benefits including a quieter system and a reduced need for fans to keep key components cool.

Until recently such a set up would have cost PC builders thousands of Rands to build. A new player in the market – IKONIK, has however released a more affordable all-in-one liquid cooling system which makes this technology more accessible.

The IKONIK RA X10 system was recently put to the test to determine whether itwould offer similar features to more costly alternatives currently available in the market.

The IKONIK RA X10 features a brushed aluminium finish which gives it a sturdier feel than conventional cases. Despite the thickness of the casing the unit remains relatively lightweight. It also features an I/O panel which provides both USB 2.0 and eSATA interfaces – a welcome addition for high end systems.

With regards to the interior the package comes fitted with a number of liquid cooling prerequisites such as a coolant disk, tank and a pump and also features one click tube coupling for easier installation. The IKONIK – X10 system also has a cooling solution and a liquid meter which measures coolant level and temperature.

In terms of standard installation the IKONIK RA X10 incorporates a tooless design as well as ten slide ports which serve as additional ports for optical drives and hard drives.

Although a liquid cooled system is not recommended for a beginner the IKONIK RA X10 certainly offers the more advanced, higher end user the chance to install their own system with relative ease.

The most significant plus factor about the IKONIK – X10 is the price; buyers will be hard pressed to find a comparable option on the market for a similar cost. This makes liquid cooling a more realistic possibility for users who may have the know how but lack the funding.
