The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini hasn’t launched in South Africa yet, but MyBroadband has received an indication of the Smart Plan contract prices of the device.

As warranted by the difference in hardware between the S4 and its little brother, the Galaxy S4 Mini comes in somewhat cheaper; around R100 per month less on a standard 24-month contract.

In addition to a smaller, lower resolution screen (4.3-inch, 540 x 960), the Galaxy S4 Mini also has less internal storage space and RAM, a slower processor, and an 8 megapixel (MP) camera as opposed to the 13MP that the Galaxy S4 sports.

The indicative Vodacom Smart Plan contract prices are summarised in the table below:

It’s worth noting that Vodacom‘s stores don’t appear to have this pricing listed, and haven’t received an expected launch date for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini yet either.

It’s a similar situation at MTN and Cell C’s stores with representatives telling us they haven’t received any word about the availability of the device.
