Neotel has released its NeoConnect Lite prepaid data and device pricing.

Neotel recently announced that it has appointed Blue Label Telecoms as its E-Voucher vendor partner. Blue Label Telecoms distributes prepaid products and services to unbanked and under-banked consumers in emerging and developing economies across the globe.

This paved the way for Neotel to launch its much anticipated prepaid offerings which have been on the cards for a long time.

The company has now announced their prepaid pricing to the market.

New prepaid subscribers will have to purchase a new NeoConnect Lite device for R599.  The device will be delivered free of charge within 7 days and will come with a free R50 airtime voucher.

The NeoConnect Lite device supports peak data speeds of 156 Kbps, but Neotel said that realistic speeds will be between 50 Kbps and 70 Kbps.

Data will be charged at 20c per MB without the option to purchase bundles to reduce the cost.

Call rates on the new Neotel prepaid service will be 50c to any landline number (peak and off-peak) while calls to mobile phones will be charged at R1.50 during peak times and R1.20 during off-peak times.

It is not clear whether Neotel will extend its prepaid service to its NeoConnect Prime and NeoFlex services.
