Openweb follows its recent Free Calls promotion with a ‘Skype to Phone Free Calls service’
Last week Openweb launched its ‘Free Calls Beta’ service which allows subscribers to call landlines in South Africa and 66 other countries free of charge.
According to Openweb founder Keoma Wright the ‘free calls’ service is a great success, and to date they have processed 16,000 calls on their network.
Openweb has now followed their ‘Free Calls Beta’ service with another free calling service: OpenWeb Skype to Phone Free Calls. This service offers all past and present Openweb clients free Skype calls to to any landline phone in South Africa and up to 66 other countries in the world.
This new free Skype calls promotion is however only available from 30 August 2010 until Sunday 5 September 2010, and Openweb warns that they only have a “limited number of channels available”.
“Since this is a trial, there are a limited number of channels available. This means that because, naturally, demand will be high, you will not necessarily be able to connect to the system on first try. However, if you cannot connect to our system, simply try again later, as it will work on a first come first serve basis,” Openweb told clients in an email newsletter.
Another restriction is that each call will be limited to 15 minutes; a limitation which Openweb says is to allow as many people as possible to make use of the service during the trial period.
