The latest HelloPeter report statistics reveals the telecoms operators which have the best and worst complaint ratios
Complaints about telecommunications companies are nothing new in South Africa. Consumers continue to lash out at local telecoms companies for poor service levels and high prices.
The popular consumer activist website HelloPeter attracted no less than 23,219 reports over the last twelve months with 21,025 (over 90% of all reports) being complaints.
It is no secret that Telkom is not the most loved company in South Africa, but according to the HelloPeter statistics Telkom is higher rated than many of its competitors when it comes to their compliments/complaints ratio.
HelloPeter’s compliment/complaints ratio gives an indication of the customer service levels associated with companies, and according to the latest statistics, Cell C is the telecoms provider with the best service levels around. Cell C is followed by Vodacom and then Telkom.
Neotel and MTN were below par but the worst company – with a compliment/complaints ratio well below all the other telecoms companies – was iBurst.
The following table provides an overview of the best and worst telecoms companies according to the HelloPeter compliment/complaints ratio of reports accumulated over the last 12 months. The ratio indicates the number of complaints received for every compliment and has been rounded to the nearest whole number. The table is organised from worst to best.
