Wireless G will introduce its first G-Connect Super Wi-Fi Hotspot at the FNB stadium at the rugby test between the Springboks and New Zealand on 6 October 2012.

The G-Connect Super Hotspot is designed to easily deliver direct Internet access with upload and download speeds of 50 Mbps, and will be introduced to media at the event.

CEO of G-Connect, Carel van der Merwe said that it will be a carrier-grade Wi-Fi network with highest quality, and is seamlessly integrated with the carrier core to deliver a great user experience.

“The G-Connect Super Hotspot service comes at a time when there is an urgent need for both high speed Wi-Fi and infrastructure capacity at special occasions and venues where media delegates, sporting fans and conference delegates are congregated,” Wireless G said in a press statement.

“We believe the G-Connect Super Hotspot concept will truly transform the connectivity experience at selected venues and help fuel significant growth opportunities for both venue owners and Wireless G,” said van der Merwe.
