I have recently cancelled my dsl account with Telkom as I will be leaving SA at the end of Feb.
I do however, still need access to the web to manage my mail accounts as well as some minor surfing. To accomplish this I have purchased a data bundle from Vodacom and an using my Nokia N70 as a modem and connecting via Nokia's PC suite.
My problem is the following. The area I stay in normally has a good 3g signal but has recently developed a situation where every 5 mins or so the 3g signal changes to gprs for a few mins and then back again.
Every time this occurs I get disconnected and have to re connect using PC suite.
Does anyone have any idea if there is any setting I can use or change to keep connected to Vodacoms towers without this continuous connected/disconnected problem.
Thanks.

Thanks.Yes, it is called 3GOnly, however your Nokia N70 might not provide you with a way of selecting 3GOnly.

You could try the latest VMC [version 9.2] and setup a 3GOnly connection profile for the N70, I don't know if it will work, but perhaps it is worth a try...
