View Full Version : Power cuts a national emergency: Erwin
Sneeky

Erwin added government had to share the blame for the current crisis, saying the country was becoming a victim of its own success with electricity demand growing faster than expected.
and still they LIE!
This was forecast 9 years ago, you just thought you knew better.
Transet, Eskom, Telkom, Sentech, hang your head in shame.

Guys, we need to stop acting like we don't know wtf is going on.
Eskom / SA Government knew this was coming and they are not dealing with the problem properly!
Eskom needs to just build 1 or 2 more power plants and they must stop pumping out KARK excuses and JUST DO IT!
2010 is around the corner, when FIFA takes the World Cup away because we can't geniunely provide power for the event, we only have 2 bunches of people to blame.
Read the stories, smile and just shake ya head.

"We have to develop an economy that is much more energy efficient," said Erwin."
SHUT THE **** UP. I'm already energy efficient. Hard to believe government, but most consumers don't like paying high electricity bills. This has nothing to do with efficiency, though it is NOW I guess. It's a failure to deliver the basic requirements needed by our economy.
"Erwin emphasised that the current emergency situation would be dealt with in a manner that would not have an adverse impact on investment flow and economic growth."
Oh FFS, someone needs to mix your eye's together with a blunt object.
"The government also emphasised that it will not be cutting power supply to other countries in order to improve South Africa's supply."
Time to close the tap on that collective opium based enema, you f'ing commie lemmings. I pay more and risk having my power cut on behalf of countries too stupid to build their own power plants?
"We have discussed how quotas will be allocated, who will be exempt from the programme, what incentives and penalties will be in place, when it will start and what legislative enablers we need to have in place for the programme to work,"
Who will be exempt?
"A price hike, coupled with an incentive and penalty system, won't be temporary."
I have the cheeks of a chipmunk distended with the salty taste of uncle Erwin's balls.
This puts to rest any belief that the governments major goal\crutch\spin, "uplifting the poor", had any meaning to begin with. Unless they're incredibly short sighted and don't see the connection between electricity and employment. The result of their foresight: immediate increase in unemployment. The poor will only get poorer. No one here can deny this is the end result of this crisis. I look forward to any attempts at a positive spin.

Its against Policy :-D As all govt contracts need to be authorised, then open for tender, then bribery... and after 4 years no-one remembers what the whole thing was about.

Obviously not, but the point is they have massive expansion programs to keep pace with demand, yet when was the last power station built here?

He means that the burden will lie solely on the residential consumer and not industry or our friendly neighbours from the North. Its intended to befuddle you so they can get away with whatever plan they put in place (or suck out their arses) without having to explain themselves. Its also a typical political statement. Be as vague as possible whilst sounding like you know what you are talking about :mad:
