Waves along the southern coast could produce between 8 000MW and 10 000MW of power - one quarter of Eskom's maximum output at any time, researchers say.

Some greenie will start a protest and say 'its ruining the marine life' - as if you put up wind turbines, the same protestors will be there to saying something else :D

Wave power will work, but it can hardly be 'allways on'... mother nature holds the cards for that deck.

Actually, I think there would be very few "greenies" complaining about wind/solar/wave power being implemented.

Wave power can actually work and depending on what type of materials are introduced into the marine environment the 'greenies' won't necessarily complain. The principle is quite simple and is similar to a bateryless / kinetic flash light.

yes, finally, i've said this hundreds of times here before, also at strong rocky foundation, very strong currents cape point.
