Is there a difference between the business dsl and the private dsl? As a private dsl user all my incoming ports seem to be blocked. I might be doing something wrong, but I've tried both ftp (port 21) and http (port 80) and they seem to be blocked. It might be my router, but i haven't had a problem with any of its other functions (Netgear DG814).

It is probably your router. You need to allow incoming ports using the PAT settings on the router, one setting for each port that must come through.
