Hi,
it will be excellent if we could have a collection of ADSL offerings from accross the world at a central spot.
It arms the warriors against Telkom to illustrate the backwardness of the Telkom offerings in public.
First one (from another posting):

excellent idea. need to organize all the data into a neat
data sheet and put it up on the main pages for references.
Perhaps track down other 3rd world ADSL offerings and compare them
to what is offered in ZA.

Here is a link to an Estonian provider but I dont know what the hell is going on. Just read somewhere that they get ADSL for the price of a big mac and they seem to be 3rd world to me.

It would seem the biggest problem experienced is the telkom monopoly.
In the uk there are numerous ISP's that offer ADSL and the competition is really good at keeping the prices lower and speeds up.
Ive just changed my ISP from www.zen.co.uk to the 2MB www.bulldogdsl.com offer which is just a little over £10 more than the 512K from zen.

I was with Zen when I was over there till OCtober last year. Great service provider but in the past 9 or so months things have got even better and so has the amount of choice. I like to think positively so I am sure someday things will be like that here.

www.broadbandreports.com reviews ISPs, and allows users to submit speedtests and feedback. They also contain summaries of ISPs. If you're interested in different packages from different ISPs in Canada, go here:
Cogeco Cable

Shaw Cable

AcessNet DSL

Telus DSL

Westman

This is probably like the best ISP in North America:

I'm with Cogeco. 6 Mbps / 640 Kbps for 30 UK pounds a month.

I have been reading a few posts here and South Africa seems to be going through the same crap as some Australian ADSL and Cable users have to put up with.
Here is a list from Broadband Choice Australia only http://www.broadbandchoice.com.au/isp-list.cfm
Part of Whirlpool Broadband news... http://whirlpool.net.au/
Add this to your list, most are adsl some are cable, Wireless and Satellite.
