Well, the complaint has been laid and raids taken place. Time will tell. Personally I would not be surprised.

Whoever's in charge at the Competion Commision needs a large bonus.
They really seem to be doing some good work over there.

Price fixing everywhere, you just don't see it.
"You must pay so much to be allowed to sell here, and you have to sell them at this overpriced amount or we cant guaranty your safety"
Been there, done that.

So I may have bought my tyres at the wrong time :(
Seriously, tyres are excessive : Just paid over R5000 for a set of 4. My moms tyres are almost R20,000 and my stepfathers are just over R20,000.

The Competition Commission has been very busy lately. Milk, bread, pharmaceuticals, steel, cars, SAA, banking, Telkom - the list goes on. Price fixing and anti-competitive practices seem to be endemic and a scourge to this country.

What worries me though, is they find price-fixing... and punish it... but what happens after that? The price always seems to go up... so was the price-fixing helping the consumer or not in these instances?
