Im looking to spend up to R25000.

I think you're limiting yourself if you're only looking for a jetta3..... set your budget and look what you can get in that budget.

Do you really think VW parts ( especially the MKIII) are reasonable ?
Good luck to you ...

Yes they are reasonable.

I have a Golf MKIII and parts from Goldwagon are make in the same country as VW parts but don't carry the VW badge.

Very reasonable.

It is difficult finding 10 year old cars that are in good condition... The people that own them know that they are worth more than what they will get for them, so they often just keep them.

The rest of the 10 year old cars have like 250 00km+ on them.

There are obviously exceptions - I hope you find one :)

Good question, I asked for a quote on a left rear stub axle a while ago and VW was asking 1200 for the part and GoldWagon was asking 460, they claimed it was the same factory just not branded.

Who really knows.

It is usually the same factory, just without the VW branding.... or it uses the same molds.

I had a 1.8 Jetta 3. It was a lovely car. Slow but good. Very easy to fix and repair.

Mine did 285K of hard driving, some of it towing a big caravan. Handled it all. You wont go wrong if you can find a well maintained model.
