To the D()()S in a blue Ford Fiesta ST with the white racing stripes from bonnet to bumer that was travelling down Rabie Rd this morning, you my friend got owned...:D
Cut a long story short this guy was doing about 40km in a 60km zone and when i overtook him he then only speed up and tried to cut me off. Lucky for me I got in front but then he tried to sit on my a$$ so I braked so hard I thought his eyes where going to hit the back of my car... Needless to say be backed right off then.:D
Now I don't normally engage in this sort of behavoiur but today was the exception.:o
Anyone here experience the same thing?

just brake suddenly, and you'll notice they don't follow you so closely..
works like a charm everytime :)
I take it you guys aren't driving new cars..
I do it often too hey :) if they on my ass just slam brakes a few times :)

I'd think twice before brake-testing a taxi or someone on a banged up car. They most likely do not have insurance so you'll end up paying for that possible fender bender.

Well i'd hate to think i've been paying for insurance for nothing all of these years...:D
Well if anyone is a first time buyer who just recently got their license and is shopping for a car but can't get mommy or daddy to help with insurance here's my advice....try buy two cheap or second hand cars instead of one (yep...unless you find a cheap insurance company your insurance is going to be higher than your darn repayments)
And if you really want to you can wreck the one car to shyte and use it on the taxis while keeping the other one spotless as a backup :) a whole new car as insurance.
Anyone here with a Velociti or Golf 3?
If you mistakly break your rear window washer thingy, that thing squirts water behind you, a good 2-3 metres.... always worked!!!:D

These days I try as hard as possible to avoid aggravating other drivers. No more braking sharply to warn them off, or making a show of preventing them from cutting in front of me. If the person is indicating to enter my lane and it doesn't inconvenience me, I slow down to let them in. If they come racing along, I simply don't. But mostly I try and make a display of well-mannered driving.
If someone comes racing up too close behind me, I simply maintain my speed (assuming there's no gap for me to move to the left) and ignore them. They can flash and come closers as much as they like. I don't need any additional stress to add to my high BP, thanks.
I've had 2 separate encounters with b@#tards in expensive vehicles (1 new Merc and 1 Jetta TDi) who decided that I was intentionally holding them up when I was already driving 120 in the right lane with heavy traffic. Both went berserk trying to cut me off and brake in front of me. I came to the realisation that we are a society of arrogant, rude, stupid drivers who seem to think that aggressive driving is the solution.
I vote for calm, responsible and careful driving rather.

I hate those guys that flash you from far off to show you they are coming through.
I purposely don't get out of his way, just because he flashed. He can go around me.
Why should I slow down from doing my normal 130km/h and go into the slow lane, just to let him pass.
Then on the other side of the coin, I sort of do the same. If someone is going slow in the fast lane, I will drive closer than the safe following distance to show him I want to pass. (my wife hates it if i do that)
But I never flash. And If they don't move, I just wait until I can pass him in the left lane.

lol also trying to drive more responsible but ffs when some one is doing 40 in a 60 zone?!?! that backs up traffic if it is a single lane!!
Also if your not going to atleast drive 80km/h KEEP OF THE ****ING HIGHWAY!!!!
Same goes for the fast lane drive 120km/h min. and i dont have a problem :)

I scream at someone every single time I get in the car. Especially people who don't pay attention and only starts pulling away five seconds after a red light has turned green.
As for Devill, by your reasoning, that people who aren't going to drive quick, should stay off of the highway, it's only fair to say that people who can't write properly should stay off of forums on the internet. That would be you :p I'm grumpy because I have to study.

Heh. I had one. Wrote it off. So i can corroborate that theory.
There's something about a ridiculous power-to-weight ratio that turns any normal oke into a d00s who think he's the shiz and has some leet streetracing skizzilz. If you buy one of these pocket rockets you really should go do some advanced driving courses so that you at least know how to handle the damn things.
Nowdays i stick to my 2l tdci, it's got the low end grunt and top end speed, economical enough and the temptation to wrap it around a tree generally doesnt present itself that often.

Dude, by not moving over when possible, you are breaking the law. And the NRTA specifically states you can flash people to alert them; tailgating, by contrast, is a lot more dangerous.

I was coming home one quiet evening, minding my own business in the middle lane, when this idjit comes roaring up behind me, flashing his lights like a tool. Now he could pass on either side of me, so I just stayed where I was in the middle lane at the legal speed limit. He roars past me on the left, serves in front of me, hitting his brakes and acting up. The the trouble really started for him, his wife/gf next to him starts having a go at him, you could see her shouting at him and he showing me all sorts of digital arrangements.
He has enough of this and shoots of into the distance. Just before he disappears I see blue lights flashing near him, as the cops pull him over, and when I pass him, he has the bonnet open and steam pouring out the engine.
Karma will get you, now or next time.

Claymore, the law also states that you should not go faster than 120km/h (that is for the guys that are flashing cos they want to "JAAG!".
And if you are traveling at the 120km/h limit, how does the person behind you manage to have to flash you, to take you over if he is not breaking the law by traveling more than 120km/h?
( you can flash to alert them, yes, for possible accident infront of them or road hazzards etc)
I drive normally, and if some dude want to "JAAG" past, i move out the way, cos he is the one that is going to either get cought or make an accident, me on the other hand, i value my life, i stay safe

Sure...but:
a) Do you carry a laser/rader speed-measuring device in your car to measure the other car's speed?
b) Is your speedo certified as 100% accurate?
c) It's not your job to enforce the law by breaking the law.

If I see someone coming in the fast lane I will change to the slower lane. But if he starts flashing (without red or blue lights) 300meters back, screw him.
Also I won't go into the slow lane if there is traffic in the fast lane in front of me.
What's the point of flashing like a idiot and then being stuck in the same traffic as everyone else.
greg_SA
18-04-2008, 11:56 AM
For sure... I dunno why people "ride ass" in traffic, and weave in and out of traffic when it won't really make any difference in rush hour. It just aggravates everyone.
The worst for me is people that start passing a long stretch of traffic (that is already tightly packed) and then just squeeze back into a non-existent gap when an on-coming car approaches! People have to let him in to avoid an accident :( WTF!
