So, my girlfriend is driving home and clips the bumper of an undercover police car that is parked in the middle lane with it's hazard lights flashing. When trying to drive past the vehicle, she clipped the bumper of the undercover police vehicle, and did not notice and carried on driving, he chases her and tells here she's driven away from an accident. Anyways, after forcing her to wait for 2 hours for somebody to come and get their details, the following story comes out:

- The undercover police car may no longer be driven because it was involved in an accident.
- The task assigned to this officer of the law will now be abandoned as they are short a vehicle.

The accident has resulted in the governmint car having a 20cm max scratch of paint on it's rear bumper.

How's that for an idiotic policy?

So - the moral of the story is ... if you are a criminal, and suspect that an undercover police car is watching you, ride into it with a trolley or something and it will be taken off of the road.

Hey .. minister of Security and Safety ... (Mr Charles Nqakula (Minister) or Trevor Bloem or Peter Nkabinde) ... are you paying attention?

Moronic! Absolutely moronic!

Lol Howd your gf do that? Hahaha thats just funny, and still drive away from the scene? I know its your gf and you might feel shes in the right, but shes wrong!!!

Shes in trouble.

Ps everyone: Never stop for anyone except Metro police. Undercover or not, a Ford St tried to stop me once, when my tires let of a little screech at the robot. I carried on driving and sped up drove for 30 min, fast and straight to the Police station close to my place. Said this guys following me, He claimed hes an off duty Metro officer, I just said I didnt know that. Got away with it.

You are not required to pull over for anyone other than a MARKED police vehicle....

Even those lil blue lights the guys put on their roof are not enough. If a cop has an issue with that, he can read the law.

It is classiefied as a state accident and a senior officer has to come and attend the scene, usually a captain.

The vechiles can not be moved until the officer has been to the scene and it is a ****load of paperwork

Once the officer has come and inspected the scene and the neccessary paperwork has been completed, then only can the vechile resume its duties. Unless there was major damage to the vechile.

Was the reservist on duty and was it a state vechile, if not then the reservist didnt have a leg to stand on.

As for stopping for unmarked vechiles, if you feel unsafe proceed to the nearest police station and stop there, if they hassel you about not stopping inform them that you were unsure that it was an official police or traffic vechile.

ToxicBunny that is true.

I work mostly in unmarked vechiles, but we kit them out with a siren and either a LED magnetic lightbar or front and rear dash LED light bars. We tend to light up the whole world when we respond.

I honestly didn't know that this was true. I thought that even though they had the red/blue LED's in there dashboards you were forced to pull over just as if it was a normal Metro/Polic vehicle.

My one friend was driving back home from the jol in his GTi and was driving relatively fast. Out of no where this white Golf 4 Gti was up his tail. S he decided to put foot and try avoid this oke. Ten minutes later the reservist decides to put his Siren/LEDs on for 5 minutes. (At this point, do you have to stop? The fact that it is an unmarked vehicle doesn't mean that it is a police vehicle) So anyway, my friend pulls over and this guy gets out his car and slaps my friend for not pulling over earlier. The minute he got his dad on the line (lawyer) he, the reservist, got into his car and left quickly.

Now are reservists allowed to encourage a 'dice' in an undercover vehicle and then pull you over for speeding/wreckless driving? What did the reservist have to hide and made him leave the scene once the lawyer was called?

And I agree with Skeptic. The fact that those LEDS/Sirens are so easily bought it a pefect idea for a crime syndicate. You get pulled over thinking it's undercover police, and next minute they get out their vehicle and rape you with everything you got!

How will one ever know if the reservist is on duty? And don't they need to be in a marked, state vehicle? Most of these guys are on an adrenaline rush to 'serve the state' in their daddy-financed cars and think they can enforce authority on inidividuals. (No offense R/SGT - if you are one) But I just think they should do what's right and not what makes them feel powerful.

So in other words rather than ripping off the procedure after an event such as this "stoke" should be coming on here and apologising most profusely for the inconvenience his GF caused as a result of not being able to drive properly!

And no doubt the expense for this down time of the officer would have had to be carried by the rest of us taxpayers... so thanks stoke, and we await your apology!

No body is telling you to put your foot on the accelerator... if your ego gets the better of you then you deserve the fine that is coming your way.

Lancelot and Telkomisaloser should become English teachers.

And by the way, 'no body' is one word, not two separate words in your context.
