New camera on Barry Hertzog.

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to let you know that there's a new permanent camera that's been installed on Harry Hertzog. If you are travelling south down Barry Hertzog towards Empire Rd, you will pass the hectic S-bends and there's a bridge just as you come out of the bends. The new camera is installed against the side of the bridge. Click on the link below to see the 2 pics i snapped this morning...

I'm not posting this so that people that speed won't get caught but rather that the people who travel on this road know that there's a camera and don't hit into the back of some idiots car when he slams on the brakes cos he's speeding. ;)

What speed measurement is used here?

I notice that this set-up takes a picture of the cars rear - must remember that when purchasing a jammer - get the front an rear transducers.

If a "speeder" slows for the camera and they hit into his rear then logically they must have been speeding as well. :p :D

Unless of course if he really slows down way way below the limit.. ;)

This really p!sses me off. The camera is positioned to catch you on a wide road that opens up to 3 lanes. There is absolutely no danger for cars to travel at 80km/h, but it is an easy money making scam for metro because the speed limit is set at 60km/h. If they really wanted to control speed for safety reasons, they would position the camera on the north/west bound lane heading into the s-bend. It's got nothing to do with safety and everything to do with revenue generation. *****ers.
