What do you guys think of Ice Skating?
But I'm talking, more the casual skating, going with your gf type drill and just ... you know, ice skating.

i freakin hate it
everytime i get on ice i wanna freak thinking about my poor fingers being chopper off by all the young boys showing off
o yes falling on your back is so funny, so is your g/f trying to help you up and falling on her ass
its good fun but not something i do more than once a year

For all those out there wanting to take your g/f or b/f...
I'm a pretty good skater (I played Ice Hockey as a kid), so the whole skating forwards, backwards, jumping etc... Pretty good at that stuff. But, I want skating with my g/f and was not showing off and holding hands, skating... Perfect moment. Then she lost her balance and used by weight to hold her up, but in an effort not to take out some idiot that fell in front of me, I fell on top of her. Broke two of her ribs...

I went to Grand West's ice rink yesterday (Sunday) and besides it being full of underage girls (well, I'm 25, so 15-18 is considered underage to me) I think of the Ice Rink like a Nascar race... all the people do is go around and around and around in circles and occasionally you see a car you like (say, a nice yummy lady) and then you sorta wait for 'that car' to pull into the pits.
Look, I had to find some form of making this whole session at the rink bareble... I can't stand it!!!
It just irratated me, like, these guys who wear all this bling, flying around showing off and these girls giggling like little freaks...
All I could do was watch and go "Can't wait for you all to grow up" !

I used to love skating when I was a kid.

Emphasis on "when I was a kid" part ;)

And what freaked me out was these 'much older' guys chatting to younger girls, maybe they know them from being there every week but still... it was soooooooo weird watching that.

Fun.... but not more than twice a year.

Emphasis on "when I was a kid" part ;)Yeah - partially because we dont have a rink in PE anymore (afaik). I'd love to teach the kids to skate when they're older.

The girls think the Ice Hockey guys are like, heroes! haha.
I spent Sunday laughing so much - they are all in their own little world ;) It's actually quite cute... this is how they survive till they turn 18, then I have to see them ruining my favourite club ;)
lmao the girls ur talking bout dont really go to skate they go to socialise with there "jocks" i hate them...but i like ice sk8ing occasionally and in good company i like gliding its calming

I can skate, love the smooth gliding part. But theres always so many ppl that you cant help but fall over some idiot falling his a$$ off infront of you. So i dont like going to the rink much.
I have not been on rollerskates since i was a kid. But they should have made advances in wheels by now... Is there any type of rollerblades out there that feels as smooth as ice?

It's awesome, i did it the other day, it was my second time ever! I really think that it would be a good moment with your gf. The falling part would be romantic...her bum will be all wet when she gets up...??
I love ice skating... and I've skated in (on) some really unusual places (when I lived in Germany): on frozen canals, on the frozen moat of a castle, on a frozen pond. The ice is never as smooth as a rink, so the frozen "waves" and ripples make it quite a challenge, nevermind the piles of snow, or leaves or tree branches on the ice...

21 - tried ice skating for the first time the other day. Ended the evening with two huge blisters and chaff wound from those damn skates-to-rent.
