I use my HSDPA phone to listen to podcasts and online radio while I work. My prepaid data bundle has almost run out. As I was about the recharge it and was looking up the prices I realised that Neotel is competing more with the cellphone companies. 24 month contracts where you get the device for free...Their data is much cheaper than Vodacom's. I know it is slower but it is fast enough for what I need it to do.Maybe the big guys will drop their prices when Neotel officially launches.

I agree with you pkid.

I think that way too many people use their cellphone to connect to the internet because they can not get a telokom line.

Neotel are targeting them.

If that's too slow get one of their faster prime offerings. They are at 2.4Mbs.

I'm quite happy with the speeds I'm getting. Hopefully MTN & VC will drop their bundle prices. I will not switch to a Neotel 156 kbps line. Funny thing is, Telkom ADSL is starting to look attractive.

i have been using ADSL for many years now, and not regretting it for 1 minute... maby its not cheap compared to rest of world, but its a hell of a lot more stable and better than any of the others.

amongst my 6 adsl lines around the country, none of them has been 'not working' for more than the reset period of less than a minute each day, and the 2 faults amongst the 6 lines over about 4 yrs have both been fixed the same day by telkom... i think telkom needs to get a bit more credit for their ADSL... its by far the best broadband connection in SA all things considered...
