If you refer to amazon.com:
1) A South African credit card and shipping address works fine
2) Some items are only available for shipping to a US address
3) Customs will add on duty(normally only 14% VAT) in South Africa which you have to pay when you collect your parcel
4) DVD's are US region, so your DVD player must be zone-free
