I've heard nothing but praise for a scheme called Bonitas.

I'm on a CAMAF though so I can't help you

the lower level discovery plans seem alright - good if you earn < R6k

Depends how much you want to spend?

Most medical aids (if not all) are obligated to offer an entry level plan in which high earners subsidise lower income earners. For that plan you pay a premium dependant on your earnings, but the figures are low. Liberty Medical Scheme has the silver focus plan where if you earn under R5500pm you pay R466, over R5500 you pay R882.

Bear in mind these entry level plans usually have overall annual limits.

PM me if you are in Durbs for more info.

don't bother with Discovery, they're just money sharks
