Assuming that you know what Knoppix (http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html) is... :p

I used it to copy data from a failing laptop HDD (winders just won't boot anymore) and there was no external USB device around.

And I use it when I want to test a firewall configuration.

There's lots of other uses for it. :)

Knoppix ftw when it comes to pissing off smart aleck 13 girls that think they know it all and for sorting out uppity drives. Great teaching-aid for the *nix impaired redmond mofo fanbois too

I used the Security Tools Distribution of Knoppix for Windows XP password cracking recently, just to see whether it still works. It does, by the way :D

I use the dvd version to check out apps that I otherwise wouldn't install. :)

I usually use it retrieve lusers' documents etc. for backup. I also use it for resizing partitions when I can't find my GParted cd.
Ultimate boot cd with Insert is also useful for resizing, checking if the network card really works etc. Insert is quite small and good for booting from flash.
