I bought a phillips 42' lcd recently.

Is it normal that for example on the end of a lost episode the words lost comes up on the screen and then goes over to the credits, the lost font will still be on the back of the LCD screen(image burn in??), but will disappear when the credits starts.

I hope this makes sense:D:o

Are you sure its an LCD and not a plasma?

Image burn-in is permanent. Yours goes away. Not burn-in.

41" LCD? Damn. I thought only Plasmas go that big.

You sure its not just an effect within lost? i.e. have you seen it elsewhere too?

No idea how to fix it though.

No it is not permanent, but it happens even if there were people on the screen before an ad break some lighter features will stay on the screen and will look a bit brighter than the normal black background of the lcd.

You'll just have to live with it or swop it for a different brand.

As long as it's normal, i don't care, and as long as it doesn't create permanent damage.

No, it's not burn in. Sounds like some form of ghosting.
What brand panel?

I wouldn't worry about that.

Its a philips 42TA2800, i thought it was some sort of ghosting as well, so no worries then?

I've googled it, there has been references to minor ghosting on those panels, but honestly not much info.
