It's official. Luis Felipe Scolari is Chelsea's new manager.

The London club broke the news to the world last night by announcing on their club's official website that the Brazilian will take over from Avram Grant. This comes after weeks of media speculation as to who woulld take over at Stamford Bridge with the likes of Carlo Ancelotti, Frank Rijkaard and Guus Hiddink being linked to the job.

The Club announded:
"Chelsea Football Club is delighted to confirm that Luiz Felipe Scolari will be the club's new manager from July 1, 2008,"

"Felipe has great qualities. He is one of the world's top coaches with a record of success at country and club level, he gets the best out of a talented squad of players and his ambitions and expectations match ours. He was the outstanding choice.

"Out of respect for his current role as Head Coach of the Portuguese national team, and to ensure minimum disruption to this work, there will be no further comment from Chelsea FC nor from Felipe about his new role until his employment with us commences."

Risky by chelsea going for someone with no european club experience. He should do well but only time will tell.

I dont think its that risky. He has worked wonders with Portugal. I know Barca and Inter wanted to sign him as their managers this season.

Were did you read this about Inter wanting to sign him. Inter always wanted Mourinho with Prandelli and Benitez as the backup plans their were never any thing on Scolari. At least not on any of the sites I visit to follow my Inter news.
