Hi Folks

I just contacted Telkom after some uncertainty from members regarding the price increase of ADSL. The price for the username and password portion of ADSL did increase, but not the line rental or other equipment. This increase was effective from 1 January 2004. I can suggest that you contact your ISP to make certain about your new price.

Please let me know if you guys were informed/not informed about this increase.

Regards,

so now in the contract price theyre even charging u for the username and pw? wow i have to hand it to em next thing they will be including the cost of the helpdesk also in ure line rental.[:(!]
How can they justify that? we need to increase the prices because it has become increasingly difficult to spell some peoples usernames. therefore to pay for difficult usernames like 73lk0l\/l 5u(k5 455 we need to now pay our techies for their RSI treatments.

New service by Telkom broadband speeds up to 5kbps for only R1k a month. heheh

Hi Armitage

With the ‘username and password’ part I am referring to the ISP charges. I was not aware that the ISP charges were being increased, and therefore I wonder if anybody else was informed. Thanks for the response anyway :-)

The information about the ISP charge increase was on a flier included with the December Telkom bill.

Nothing about the price increase in email though.

Maybe they're going to start a "skills and development"levy.
God knows they need it.

Just a quick curveball. I wonder if their using the increase in charges to help fund the work that they did on the ATM Network.
