Any possibility of posting the GPS coords of the Newlands tower?

Want to use a GIS package to see how far away form it I am :)

Dude I'm 2.856 km away from the Newlands tower as the mossie flies.

Good or bad? Will intervening building topography be an issue?

Where about are you in Newlands? Cos i am also in da Newlands area, near Ravensberg to be excact. Where can i type in da GPS cords to see where the tower is?

I'm in Mowbray actually so if you are in Newlands itself you should be fine.

I have a Garmin GPS map database which I used to check my distance.

I think I get it now. The coords are in degrees/minutes/seconds, but written as looking like decimal degrees.

all the ct towers are still being installed where as the durbs towers are running but not activated yet. how is sentech gonna b able to supply cape town with the launch date in just one month and apparently the beta testing hasnt even started here yet.[:(]

ProAsm can't do that because Telkom will then use these: http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/jdam.htm , on the towers.

They're GPS targeted ...

Anybody have any idea whether there'll be coverage in Newton Drive (Meadowridge/Bergvliet) in Cape Town? I saw there was mention of Two Towers (cliche by now - Sorry JRR) ie Wynberg and Constantia but I've no idea how far away they will be from my house - Any info would be greatly appreciated [^]

Ok, so im a newbie in this forum...but I do know IT!

hArTh?? I see you helping some ppl here. Could you help me out to please?? Im in Cape Town, in Edgemead... in Wimbledon way. There are three towers near me 1. Milnerton 2. Goodwood 3. Parow North What the chances you can give me the rough distances from those towers to that road??

These are exciting times...I really wish this whole Sentech thing picks up...[:p]

How bout a tower or 2 in Somerset West/Gordon's Bay area? C'mon, its a big, populated area, lotsa wealthy, bandwidth-hungry people around here. In fact, i'm the only poor person i know here. People are talking about it here, all the time. Towers, we want towers.

and www.uninetwork.co.za but i recommend www.wo.co.za. I am currently on uninetwork but will be switching in the week! uninetwork was great untill they started offering more options. Now there are 2 many users on. Im on the R399 package, so basically i get the worst priority.

Wireless rocks, surfing is unreally fast.

hmmm, didn't know bout these companies.

are they legal? what happens if i sign up and they shut down. will i be able to use their equipment to hook up to sentech?

this is tempting, since the 19th seems far away indeed and i am sick of only being able to browse the net after 7 during the week.

any info would be cool.
