About time! Now the general public can also keep an eye out for them.

My Problem with it is : How can you advertise when you can't actually deliver?

They're probably using the public reaction as a research opportunity, and will only later include the applicable areas in the media once the research is complete.

They are looking for the corporate sector not the end-user :)
People who will give them contacts to the value of MILLIONS

If you listen to the Ads, it's directly to the Public, the Corporate sector is FAR more aggressively targetted, I've already met with Neotel Reps who want to cover me from a business point of view...
I want DECENT FAST internet at home!.

They're also advertising in print media...the education issue of tech smart for sure. I saw the ad yesterday, and was somewhat surprised. They mention in the ad "Services only available in selected areas"

Ag, the cell phone companies did it when their footprint was only in major metros. I don't see why Neotel cannot do the same.

Voda 3G coverage is also not everywhere.
Besides, Rome was not built in a day & Businesses have to advertise to survive.

Why should a company advertise? After all, who wants annoying customers.

Same with Sentech and Iburst. Even Telkom advertises ADSL even though it's not available from every exchange.

I also thought of the same thing. Heard the whole ad campaign cost around R6 million!

I think Neotel need to get exposure, and show the country we here already at your door stop offering some services in certain areas ;) .
That 6 Million is just pocket change for Neote, as they need to get exposed and it is also write-off.

Coming into the office this morning, a colleague was asking for advice concerning her next upgrade on her cellphone contract.
As we were deliberating she actually made mention of us now having a new operator, Neotel! I was shocked - my 1st encounter with the brand outside of discussion here!
The ads seem to be doing their work and so far has got someone talking about it.
When I tried explaining to her that they've already been active for close on a year - I just got a look of disbelief and then promptly sent her on her way home - she needed the sleep after a nightshift and I don't think I would have got anything constructive across to her :p :D

It is very good for them to have the general public aware of them before they are actually available. People are very greedy for something new in SA, specially considering the extremely good add they have on TV. I think 10/10 to Neoltel on the look and feel they went with.
Just love the 3d modeling and animation they had done... one of the BEST SA adds I have ever seen.
Anyone know if it is a product of Maya? or what did they use for mod and rend?

I heard their radio add this morning...VERY catchy!!!
I liked the way they made digs saying "1Gig...what can you do with 1Gig of data these days? Nothing! So Why not use Neotel uncapped"...(or something in those lines) :D :D

There would be no point... they want to get the message out to people who DON'T have internet yet... such people won't be able to get to www.bizbuilder.za.net... lol...
It's nice that they can do such fabulous 3D graphics... too bad that 3D graphics is not their primary business... It would be better if they ACTUALLY had some coverage!.
