just out of curiosity and large amounts of boredom do think it would be possible to get mnet using mythtv and a tuner card by messing around with mythtvs scripts

i assume you have a decoder right? if so yes it is possible to get mnet. your decoder should have either rf out or rca connectors which should be able to feed into your tv tunder card.

Yes actually it is very easy I am building a new HTPC, using mythTV and DStv. depending on outputs from m-net decoder, just input it to your tuner/capture card, setup source and input, and link them and you're off.

I want to get The IR Blaster going now to change the channels on the DStv decoder, automatically, now there is a pain.

which decoder do you have? as long as you don't have the pvr i think you should be fine.

hahahahahaha. i think there was a thread on here that concluded cracking of video was possible but not audio. or maybe the other way around.

but why do you think we would promote illegal manners of obtaining mnet/dstv when some of us here are linux users who pay for our dstv every month?

Well then you also wouldn't have to pay lol

Been there done that and it will not and never will work!
Plus you need a bt compatable tuner card to even attempt to crack it.
After all that nonsense you wont get audio.
I devoted a month to this same topic to no avail.

Hmmm never say never i think the problem is information unlike the us and other western countries where guy's share information and work as a group too crack something here in sa we tend too work solitary tis So hard to find someone with the information you need . Now the first question would be What encryption does mnet use for terrestrial broadcasts . I know dstv uses irdeto2 and sabc uses nagravision with the right fta decoder with bin files free dstv and if u in zim free sabc
Tis not impossible

It is impossible. Irdeto 2 is unhackable. And the CableCrypt app for the cracking of M-Net analogue only hacks the video, not the sound. Good enough for rugby I guess. First off you need a bt878 TV tuner card. The Winfast TV2000XP card is good and there are plenty. Google CCDXP32 download. When opening the the CCDXP32 app the first time you must click on the Decoder menu and select Lock... (or press ctrl+L) and then select Method: start of image (finiR) and PLL: finiR. Click on Accept. Use the navigation keys to stabilize the image then press L.
And last but not least, DO NOT EVER use the above mentioned information, EVER! It is illegal to hack any pay-TV service if you are not subscribed to it! The info above is for amusement purposes only. Doesn't mean a thing.

+1, even those few are stubborn to share their secrets because they don't want a noob horde.
