Anybody in Randburg using neoconnect prime please let me know so we can get in touch and compare speeds latencies etc. My download speeds are horrible compared to others on the forum and i am thinking it must be the base station as i have tried every other form of fix i can think of. Only thing left is to compare with someone connected to the same base station.

What download speeds are you getting?

I get 100KB/s (with some fluctuation) in my bedroom, and about 60 - 80KB/s in my study (on a really good day). My desktop's in the study - so I'm kind of screwed.

I have never seen the brilliant 140KB/s+ speeds that others report.

Lol ok then it just may be a base station issue then. I get about 90 (700kbps) at the moment but it does dip down well below that at times. I have asked neotel to check the base station for problems and Alfred has told me they will.

Where abouts in Randburg are you by the way? I am very close to the corner of republic and jan smuts.

Speak to RichardG and check out his speeds. roughly the same distance from his base station as i am from mine and he gets like 220KB (1800kbps). I really hope it is not just congestion on the base station as if it is i hate to see what happens in a couple months when there are far more users.

I'm not in Randburg, I'm in the Sandton/Gallo Manor area. I have no idea how far I am from the base station but coverage for my area is supposedly "Excellent".

I think it is because the following reasons:
CBD Areas: Sandton & Randburg, my thoughts are either the base stations are congested or they've throttled you at a certain speed...

I have to say i will be a little dissapointed if it turns out to be throttling because no where on there site do they say anything about throttiling and if it turns out to be congestion and they have only just started advertising then i fear for my potential future speeds.
