I've just migrated from Vodacom's 3.6 HSDPA package (due to the constant disconnects and poor speeds) to a Neotel NeoConnect Prime 5GB and this is what I think so far:
1.) Most simple telephonic application - In all it took me just under 10 minutes to apply for my account. I did this on Friday and received a call from the couriers on Saturday to inform me that my new modem/phone was ready for delivery. Wow!
2.) Service - Installation was a bit buggy (as I'm a Windows Vista Home Premium 64Bit user there were going to be issues). I called Neotel up with the problem expecting "We'll have to send someone out" or "Please could you bring the system in" as was common with Vodacom but within 5 minutes had the drivers downloaded and installed on the system. Another Wow!
3.) Speed tests show slightly slower than HSDPA speeds but I find the speeds to be constant and no more disconnects. Something that is a lot more important to me as a business tool.
Well done to Neotel, so far so good.

Hi there,
Could you give an indication of your latency? I'd like to know how suitable their wireless service is for online gaming for games such as Counter Strike etc? We are applying for the exact same package next week when we move in to our new home.. Goodbye crappy 384kbps telkom internet.
Strange however how low their upload speeds are. This is what I get with a 384kbps conn:
Download Speed: 351 kbps (43.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 103 kbps (12.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

I haven't played an online game (local or international) for years.
Damn I'm getting old (yay!).
If I get a chance I'll try loading the old trigger finger over the weekend and posting a few results for you,if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

6kbs upload... you could only play like warcraft with that online... i doubt it would be enough for bandwidth hungry games
