What makes me laugh is this final bit of information:
"However, Telkom responded that a Markinor survey had indicated that 88 percent of its 16 000 customers were satisfied with the service."
This is a blatant lie, the Markinor survey merely indicates that approximately 88% of the customers surveyed were satisfied with the service. Chances are they only took a small selection of customers (no more than 1000), which implies that really only a maximum of 880 people would be satisfied.

Congratulations to RPM for his effort!
The report is technically not well written, but it does bring home the message that MyADSL accuses Telkom of providing a substandard service at elevated prices
South Africa needs World Class Broadband at World Competitive Prices.
I must agree the report isn't well written, but nevertheless better than nothing. Thanks to the writers for the effort.

Hi guys
I agree that the report is technically not the best, but it serves the purpose of informing people that something is not right. Watch the media for a few more :-) The M&G has contacted me and I hope they do a more comprehensive report. It was high time that Telkom was reminded that we are waiting for lower line rentals and an improved service!

RPM

I made my remark on technical inaccuracies in the context that it is difficult to communicate technical issues to journalists (in general).
But I have to agree: Any media coverage, good or bad ont he surface, is good coverage in the end!
I'm looking forward to the rest.
Telkom made these profits, and I suspect most business owners and consumers are fuming at their Telkom bills because they know which pockets paid for those profits.

This is some very weak reporting, this lady needs to get her facts straight. She seems to be under the impression we are a service provider.
