Had to read your post a hundred times to understand it, no wonder you are not getting any replies.
How I decoded your post:
"Yo guys, I am on Virgin Prepaid and I spend as much, if not more, than these oaks on the Unlimited SMS contract deal. Don't you think it is fair that they give the same deal/service to me for free?"
If you are spending that amount on prepaid, why ain't you moving over? What is stopping you? The "Only available to new Virgin Mobile customers" clause? There are ways to become a new customer you know... Port out and port back in, Presto, New customer. Otherwise just get a new contract with a new sim.

Joining Virgin on a contract is not smart. Their customer service is nonexistant and once you realise that you're screwed you are tied into a contract.

No you're not tied to a contract. You can cut your contract short with Virgin.
You'd know that if you were a post pay customer.

Does Virgin have their sole call centre operator periodically checking up on these forums, or do they not have a rep at all??

I think the Virgin rep is still trying to connect using Virgin, hence missing Christmas,New Year and babies first steps!
