Hello adslers

I have noticed in the last few weeks that at least once a week, i pick up an abuse listed ip address. Something i have no control of. Telkom change my ip once a day - why the F$%^ they dont do that at 3am when i am sleeping instead of 1pm when i am doing something on the net - anyway. Obviously there are a number of ip addresses listed on abuse sites, when i receive one of these in telkom ip change, i am directly effected by it. I get mail messages non delivered (due to ip listed on abuse servers), even some sites i connect to says host ip not allowed....

WHY THE F%^& TELKOM!!!!

this is rather unfortunate, now the stupid bastards dont want to give you a static ip, but you get the crap for someone else doing something on a different ip.

Bob, most mailservers have put the Telkom ADSL IP range in their DUL (Dial-Up User List) blacklists.

It's almost impossible to directly send mail from ANY ADSL IP address.

You will have to take that up with your ISP. In the case of telkom you use smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net.

you can use smtp.saix.net from *any* telkom/saix VISP

I got a faulty IP 2 days in a row, basically banned on most sites etc, was fricking useless. Last night I phoned 0800375375 (line problems) and asked about the banned/blocked IP's and was told "Umm, yes sir we are getting a lot of these lately..." to which me answer was, "Gee, doesn't static IP sound like a better idea? Or are you scared of losing all your Diginet customers to ADSL..." and then there was silenece...
