93rd min equaliser. Vital point for West Brom. Keeps them just outside the relegation on goal diff.

Read on BBC live text that Ignasi Miguel might make his debut today.
Playing lower league team and I am still nervous, has been that kind of season. Would take a nice easy win, with no drama and no injuries, but thinking it might not be that simple.

Not really making too many good chances, Chamakh looking of the pace, Bendtner moving well, but shooting badly, lets hope he can get his shooting sorted. Arsharivn working well, Rosicky as well. If it remains 0 - 0 for another 20 or so we will see Cesc or Jack i rate.

It's not just irritation dude, it's the fact the Arsenal now have another fixture to add to an already packed list. Competing on four fronts doesn't take kindly to having more fixtures added.

It's an inconvenience yes, but hardly the big deal that you make it out to be. Our second team will play as they did tonight. If we move onto the QF of the FA Cup, we'll have 5 fixtures in the month of March compared to the 7 we had in February and the 9 we had in January.
If you were looking for doom and gloom here, then I am sorry to disappoint.

True but most of our players will be playing in the international friendlies in march, so not much of a break
But its good imho, these players need as many games as possible
Denilson, Gibbs, Chamakh, etc..

Implied in there, of course, is the fact that Arsenal players (all soccer players actually, but somehow Arsenal players in particular) are prone to injury especially injury when they're fatigued by playing too often. Just because I pointed out that having an added fixture is an irritation, doesn't mean there was an element of 'doom and gloom' in my post you drama queen.

The Hamstring injuries, calf strains, sore backs etc... They aren't the problem... The problem is when RVP plays a friendly against a country the world hasn't heard of before, and twists his knee, or stuffs up his ankle... He always injures himself for his country...

Where did I say YOU implied doom and gloom? General consensus here is the additional fixture is not a big deal. Something YOU think it is and accused me of not having a "champion mindset" because of my positive outlook on the result. Is Arsenal is trying to break the record for the most fixtures in one season. Wonder what that stat is?
We had some decent chances that we didn't take, but Orient made some offensive changes and started to come forward. Would have like if we responded and brought on one or two players to get the second.
Replay is frustrating but not the end of the world. Atleast we've got a fixture against Stoke rugby club to look forward to in midweek. :(

Yesterday's team should have wn comfortably playing on half that pitch. Fact is we did not use our chances and gave them a look in. Old Arsenal family recipy.
Miguel looked decent on debut. Not sure of his involvement in their goal (didn't watch the replay as I was sweeping up the broken mug and cleaning the coffee stains of the wall), but other than that the boy looks a prospect.

Tbh, I didn't watch the whole game, but I saw the 2nd goal. And IMHO it's a bit harsh to blame Al for the goal. YES he should of done better, but then you should also blame Gibbs and that other guys (can't get to his name now) for letting Tehoue through on goal.
And do guys think that Arsene is going to field a second string team in the replay ? You guys need/want to win trophies

I read somewhere that Chamakh felt he was "burnt out" and needed a rest. I think this was pretty evident on his performance yesterday.

I still think at 1-0 70min in we should have brought on Cesc or Nasri. They were bringing on attacking options and we should have responded. The risk of injuries will always be there, players get injured in training as well. We would have been better equiped to put pressure on them. I mean 20min run out will hardly affect a player that is expected to play on Wednesday.
Please tell me if there is any Arsenal fan out there that felt secure with us only 1-0 up with 20min to go.

Bru, I am not even comfortable at 2-0 up and given recent results, even 4-0 is not a guaranteed win. I think it was a gamble by Wenger who had one eye on the Stoke game. No point stewing about it though, we are still in the cup and I am pretty confident we'll beat them at the Emirates.

Agree, but if you look at the relative risk of just making a few subs, to adding another fixture to the list it seemed a big gamble not make those subs.
Should probably focus on the Stoke game. Not a fixture I am looking forward to. At least it is at home, so I will not have to watch 20min of ball toweling.

I think we should get our ball boys to drop the ball into a bucket of water before handing the ball to Delap for a throw in. I see no difference in doing that compared to handing him a bath towel.
Jokes aside, Stoke are never an easy win but away from the Britannia they are less formidable. I hope we remind Shawcross of what we think of him.

For us it won't be an easy game. They will put a lot of pressure on our defense from set pieces. A lot will be down what the referee will allow on the pitch as well. One shove on the keeper that goes un punished and your 1 goal down. Then there is little matter of them trying to "out muscle" us on the pitch.
Hopefully with Djourou in defense we should be a bit more solid defending set pieces. It will be a big test for Chesney to see how he copes with Stokes tactics.
Will take any winning scoreline with no broken bones.

I still stand by my point, a player that was injured it not usually the same player he was before the injury, especially long term injury. Never been a fan of Valencia, but my belief it takes a player a while to adapt again.
Typical example - Fernando Torres.
1st season at Liverpool he was off the chain and then the injuries started and he started losing confidence/getting scared and look at him now. Won't even run at players anymore, because he is scared he going to get injured. Little bit off topic, but ja.

Parapharsing from Arseblog, but I have to agree. What a team Arsenal is. Go from winning against Barca, so we can sing their praises to drawing against Orient so that we can bitch, moan and point fingers. (including myself here) They do really cater for all kinds of fans.
Arsenal really makes you watch till the end aswell. I am not moving from my seat unless the lead matches the seconds left on the clock.
+100 Arsenal are like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get :D

He probably will, hurt some rumours that he having some marital issues. Don't know how true it is, but can explain why he so down and out.
Players will probably return to there form, but it takes time. It is all mental, imagaine after coming back from a leg break and then seeing a player coming full speed ahead and then sliding at your leg. Any normal person will be a bit sceptical. But they get the big bucks, so maybe it doesn't affect them

Ya, coz Arsenal will go unbeaten for the next two years but draw to leyton Orient :D
Playing for a "k@k" team doesn't make you a k@k player. Just ask Alan Shearer. Torres was poor at the World Cup in the world cup winning team. K@k player in a great team more like.
The Newcastle that Shearer played for wasn't k@k, they almost won the League. For a great player in a k@k team, you think about le Tissier.

His mother is English so there will be a huge debate about his DNA. This is far in the future though.
For now we'll need to worry if Ignasi Miguel comes good in the next couple of years. Remember that Barca DNA is only discorvered in a players once they make it in the big leagues. Just having been at Barca's School for the gifted does not mean you have the DNA.

Saw some footage - he appears to be one of those midfielders with an eye for goal.
The replay is an excuse to get the proper reserve side some much needed game time - so when they're actually called upon, they're ready to step up.
Also an extra match at the Emirates means additional match day revenue - considering - we're playing away again in the Quarters, once we get past Orient.
I hope the Nasri situation gets resolved, I am not keen for us to have another Edu/Flamini type free transfer.

Wonder who will stand in for him tonight. Bendtner or Chamakh? Doesn't really matter for me as long as it's not both. Bendtner will bring slightly more going forward, while Chamakh will provide a bit more in defense.
Maybe start with Chamakh and then bringing on Bendtner if we need a bit more in the second half.

The evil Arsenal luring their players away with the promise of more money. Shame on us.
EDIT: This is actually a non-story as the player has allways said he wanted to comeback to England. Pep's brother brokered the deal. I don't even think Barca is worried about it. Media just dug up the story to add some spice to the 2nd leg Champs league game. More Drama.

Delap should be warned and then yellow carded for time wasting for ball drying. Injuries aside we did very well. Chesney had on scare with the Huth header, but otherwise did great. Next time he'll know what to expect.
I know I've been ragging on Squillaci, but he does seem a bit better playing with Djourou. The goal will be great for his confindence.
Massive disapointment for Walcott. Should have had at least on goal in the first couple min, but ends up leaving the game on the stretcher. The defender was basically wrestling him to the ground without going for the ball. I am unclear why that is not a foul.
Final on Sunday to look forward. Would love to see Cesc lift a trophy at Wembly.

Walcott out too but RVP fit. Initial estimate on Walcott is 2 weeks, which isn't disaster. With Cesc, Wenger is a little unsure but labeled it a "small injury".
Probable team for Sunday:
-----------------Chezny
Sagna-----Kolscieny-----Djourou-----Clichy

Bendtner-----RVP-----Arshavin

You can maybe also put it down to who is available and luck of the draw. Nowadays, players are getting injured more frequently and sometimes especially for those crucial games. You make it up in the league, but like you said the cup is about then and there. No second chances or third chances depending on CUP

Media now: Arsenal haven't won trophy in 5/6 years.
Media if we manage to win on Sunday: " Arsenal haven't won a major trophy in 5/6 years."
If you're even more optimistic the headlines at the end of the season could be: "Arsenal haven't won a trophy without the help of Chelsea in the last 5/6 years"

Cup final day today, been a long time since we have been able to say that. The last 2 cup finals i can remember, we went a goal up and lost them 2 - 1. Lets hope we take this one today!!
6PM KICK-OFF, i hope i can get back home in time to watch!

You can maybe also put it down to who is available and luck of the draw. Nowadays, players are getting injured more frequently and sometimes especially for those crucial games. You make it up in the league, but like you said the cup is about then and there. No second chances or third chances depending on CUP
Yip, injuries are the biggest f' ups in soccer...

It’s A Good Job Arsenal Don’t Care About The League Cup… (http://therepublikofmancunia.com/its-a-good-job-arsenal-dont-care-about-the-league-cup/)
This time last year, Arsene Wenger claimed that whilst he was desperate to end Arsenal’s trophy drought, stretching all the way back to 2005, he didn’t regard the League Cup as a trophy.
“It’s very important that we win something,” Wenger said. “We’re here to win trophies. But it depends on what you call trophies. Is it the Champions League, the Premier League, the League Cup? If you win the League Cup, for me, you cannot say that you win trophies.”
As grown men stood inside Wembley stadium crying today, after watching Birmingham score a late winner thanks to a monumental **** up from Wojciech Szczesny and Koscielny, it’s hard to believe they shared the opinion of their manager.
It was an odd day, starting with Arsenal players showing up at Wembley in their trackies, rather the customary suits.
Then, a few minutes in to the game Lee Bowyer beat the offside trap and was one on one with the keeper. Szczesny brought him down and didn’t win the ball but was saved by the linesman who incorrectly flagged Bowyer as offside. Replays showed he was a good two yards onside. Had the linesman got the decision right, Birmingham would have been awarded a penalty and Arsenal would have gone down to ten men. This decision was the latest of a long line which make a mockery of Szczesny’s claim earlier this season that it is Manchester United who always got the decisions.
From that point on, you couldn’t see past an Arsenal win, particularly when considering the 14 places that separate them in the league. But Arsenal failed to pick up Zigic to make it 1-0 and after a cracking Robin van Persie equaliser, the best striker in the world couldn’t save them, and then threw away the trophy thanks to a bizarre lack of communication at the back.
Szczesny has been very vocal on Twitter, most recently trying to take the piss out of Ashley Cole for his penalty miss against Everton in the FA Cup. “Is it a plane? Is it an aeroplane? No, its just ashley throwing chelsea out of the fa cup.” It’s safe to say he deserves all the piss taking which will now come his way after throwing Arsenal out of the League Cup final.
Ben Foster was Man of the Match for United when we won the competition back in 2009 and was Man of the Match again today for Birmingham. Ahead of the game he claimed that United didn’t even bother celebrating the trophy then, that is was business as usual in training the next day, but there’s no doubt Birmingham will be celebrating this one.

Can't help but think that the reason why we lost yesterday, was Wenger's replacement for Cesc - Rosicky. He was terrible. On the team sheet, it indicated he would play in Walcott's position and Nasri in Cesc's, but as the game started he was very central and Nasri wide. He constantly lost the ball, poor passes, no creativity and ultimately very poor. As much as I rate the Czech, I think its time for him to pack his bags. Bendtner in Walcott's position would've been a much better move IMO. Not only has been playing more regularly than TR, he has been scoring goals and he is a much better defensive option especially when defending against a set piece. Wenger's thinking might have been to keep him fresh for Wednesday's game, but why not do the same for TR? Bizarre.
Anyway, it is very disappointing, but in the greater scheme of things the Carling Cup is not the most prestigious of trophies. For us, it was a bit of a "damned if you do, damned if don't" scenario yesterday. Had we won, he would've faced the "only the carling cup, not a major trophy etc" comments, and had we lost we would have to live with the disappointment of missing out on another trophy and the embarrassment of losing out to a relegation threatened side.
The boys just need to show some character now and pick themselves up with "B side" beating Leyton Orient on Weds, and "A side" beating Sunderland on the weekend. Much more prestigious trophies to be won.

Sorry excuse really.
Any trophy is better than none. Birmingham played their socks off and played as if it matters. They have'nt won a trophy in ages themselves.
Will be another sad season for Arsenal supporter's if it remains trophyless. No use harping on the fact that the Gunners are competing on 4 ( 3) fronts and then not winning anything.
Playing pretty football is nice and football fans love the entertainment, but winning even the 'smaller' trophies does help team confidence and morale.

We obviously did not pay the ref enough since we still lost. Poor decision by the linesman and for me the game was over after I saw that replay. Grats to Birm they did very well. In the end probably the right outcome. To be honest I would have prefered to loose the game, with ten men and a penalty down than the way things ended up.

Sure I am disapointed, about the weekends result.
If you guys lose to Chelsea and Liverpool in the next 2 league games, will I be happy? Yes, because it adds to Arsenal title hopes.
If Leighton Orient knocks us out and beats you guys in the next round. I don't give a toss, because Arsenal would already be out of the competition. Therefore I would have no need come on here to put my thumb on my nose, wiggle my fingers and stick out my tonge.
