I think we ought to keep it in the same vain and finish the year off with a bash of note!
This past year has seen very successful events and I hope we can finish the year off in the same fashion.
If weather permits, I'm obviously in the mood for a braai and drinks.
A restaraunt would not do - for me anyway, but I'll go with the majority either way.
So a braai - venue I'm not particular about as I'm always keen to drive out anywhere.
Has to be an all day affair IMO!
December 16th is a public holiday, falls on a Tuesday, but that may be too late as some people may have left town for vacations etc.
Anyway Frangelico from my side will be at the ready.
And I don't care what shift I'm working as I'll make a plan - can't believe I missed out on Stellies!
Drop your suggestions and ideas in here.
Lets have a look at the ideas that pop up and then we can organise a poll at a later stage.

Nah Moe is a good guy and helped me out alot with my last CBR900, even sold it to him.
He has a good rep amongst all the bikers I've encountered.
Nice guy and always helpful.
His location may be a bit dodge, but his service is top notch.
Shake&Bake excellent you started this, I was thinking of organising another one as well. Perhaps we can organise it together?

So we must decide are we going to do it
a) Stellenbosh at another venue
b) Somerset West (doubt anyone will go to this:()

Lets wait and see how it plays out.
I'm at the office now and don't really have time to put any thought into it right now - just wanted to get it out there for people to discuss.
There's also the option to grovel at v3g's feet to host us again :p
I'd like to see more input from others, so we'll leave it to hear what others have to say.
If there is no major reaction within the week - lets say by Friday, then it would have to revert to speaking amongst the usual crowd of attendees and then just agreeing on something.

Last year we did a spit braai, but many peeps showed up a bit late and the food was cold, so maybe this year we just keep a fire going and everyone can chuck some meat on as required?

That doesn't sound bad at all. ;)
In fact yes - that's a good one, then everyone can enjoy their own selection of meat if they like.
I can't see a problem with that.
You walk in, have a drink and throw your meat on the coals whenever you feel the need to chow something. Then have another drink :p

So I'll throw in some dates for up for suggestion.
27/28/29 November (EDIT - these dates won't do I think as its the MyBB conference on the 27th)
Not all three days now ;)
One of them.
That's a Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
Why I've thrown the Thursday in is because with the last Stellies meet v3g asked if we could avoid a Saturday as he usually has plans IIRC. So that may bode for the Friday as well. Not sure.
Also it may seem a bit of a rush, but I don't know what people's plans are for December, so these dates are thrown in provisionally for discussion.

If anyone is insane enough to attend a party at v3gs place on a week night, make sure you have leave for the following day ;)
Friday the 28th is out for me, Sat or Sunday is probably better. The other option if weekends are bad is the 15th Dec because Tuesday is a public holi(recovery)day.

Ok all, I have reneged on my earlier statement that I would wait till Friday, but the deal is that we're going to have this meet on Saturday, the 29th of November 2008.
This due to availability of our kind host v3g and the fact that we'd rather not impose on anyone's vacation plans for December.
This thread has been slow with the initial uptake of peeps posting and it's now come down to this.
Please do not see this as a dicatator's decision.
It just came about that, based on all of the info received thus far, it would make sense.
I'll ask for this thread to be closed in the morning and to have the new one stickied ( if that is English I don't know :p )
So see you then, more info will be forthcoming in the next thread - for now I'm off to watch the latest Bleach and then to fade off to sleep ;)
