I stand to be corrected but WAP is for browsing the internet on CELLPHONES so only MTN Cell C and Vodacom can provide it and thus ISP's are for browsing internet on PC's, laptops and the like

I know that M-Web also provides a WAP Gateway (apart from Vodacom and MTN). The cheaper option would be to connect via GPRS. If your phone has an email client, you can get the email on POP3 or IMAP directly via GPRS.
