So I'm thinking of changing my hairstyle... maybe growing it a bit longer, to have a softer look (it's currently quite short, especially at the back).

The problem is to find a hairstyle that I like, that's easy to maintain without lots of blowdrying and gel, and that fits my face shape.

I've been looking around at hairstyle sites on the net, but what I'm really looking for is a site that lets you upload your photo, then try out different hairstyles on it. All the ones I can find are not free, though - they tend to cost like 5 dollars a month for a 3 month subscription. Does anyone know any good free sites? Obviously I'll chat with my hairdresser as well, but I'd like to have some ideas in my mind already when I go.

I am sure your hairdresser will have many hairstyle books?

Yup, I'm sure she does. They're just always so... model-like, not hairstyles you'd actually wear :) And I'd like to have a better idea of what I want before I go (and because once I get an idea in my head, I get too impatient to wait!)

Yip, I am the same! But CathJ, with your face, you should'nt have any difficulties in finding a suitable hairstyle; relax!

Old thread about this. Maybe some of the links still works.

Wow, myBB has everything !

Not a terribly useful thread :) But there were one or two links that might have been serious - I'll follow up on them tomorrow (browsing on my phone atm)
