It has taken most of his life – but, after 26 years, builder Graham Parker has finally solved the puzzle of the Rubik's Cube.
When he bought the toy in 1983, Yuri Andropov was leader of the Soviet Union, breakfast TV was a novelty and music CDs were in the shops for the first time.
'I cannot tell you what a relief it was to finally solve it,' the 45-year-old from Portchester, Hampshire, said. 'It has driven me mad over the years – it felt like it had taken over my life.
'I have missed important events to stay in and solve it and I would lie awake at night thinking about it.
'I have had wrist and back problems from spending hours on it but it was all worth it. When I clicked that last bit into place and each face was a solid colour, I wept.'

It's easy,
Twist one face at 45' to the others and gentley crack that sucker open.
It takes about 5 mins to reassemble the cube.

That's how I "solved" it too. If done the proper way it would take me way more than 26 years:D

There are a few web sites that help you solve it in a few mins. Doesn't the guy have internet!

AFAIK on the back of the packet it came in there were moves on the back, or even a little fold-out guide.....
looks like he threw it away, when he got too exited to play the cube :D

Sheesh he must be stupid! Wonder if he got it right by pure fluke after all that time?

I really used to under-estimate children and computer games. A few years back I was quite pro at Quake III. One day we had a LAN at this guys house, his 6yr son was gonna take part as well. We kinda thought it was a joke but after a few minutes it was no joke, this lil guy was fragging us big time...he had lightning reflexes and hand eye coordination. I think in hand to hand combat us vs a child is no contest, but in terms of brain power, speed and intellect I think some of us would be quite humbled :)

It has taken most of his life – but, after 25 years, postwhore Ivan [-]XXXXXX[/-] has again decided never to solve the puzzle of the Rubik's Cube.
When he was born in 1983, Yuri Andropov was leader of the Soviet Union, GMSA was a novelty and music CDs weren't yet in South African shops.
'I cannot tell you what a laugh it is to read about these buggers who've devoted their time to it,' the 25-year-old from [-]Potchester[/-] Polokwane, said. 'It havent really bothered with it over the years – it felt like it would turn me into a lonely nerd.
'I would have missed important events (parties, getting laid, etc) to stay in and solve it and would have slept alone at night thinking about it.
'I would have had hair on my palms and eye problems from spending hours on it. When read Mercurial's thread, I clicked "Submit reply" to another rediculous and useless post from myself, I wept.'
