Networking Question

Lo all.

I'm having a LAN at my place this weekend, and need to connect 10 PCs up to a network. I have got an 8 port switch and an 8 port HUB. The switch has an uplink port, but the hub doesn't have anything saying uplink, etc. on it.

My question is: Can I just plug the hub into the switch using a network (crossover?) cable? If so, do I plug it into the uplink port?

If you want to conncet the hub to the switch and you're oging to use the "uplink port" then you can use a plain patch cable to connect the 2 items.

patch the uplink into the hub if you patched the uplink into a crossover it will not work as a cross over in a cross over is a confused straight through ...
