We bought one of the NeoConnect Phones for R599.00 and we are on the R99 a month subscription.

See here for the sign-up thread... which had its own problems :(

We would like this device to serve as backup for our Internet Needs at the office.

However when I go to dial-up on the device it connects for a few seconds and then disconnects. Then whenever I try to re-connect it gives me a "Username or Password invalid on the domain message"

I did already post once here...

I also e-mailed Neotel.

I also called their Tech Support, but they said they would call me back. So far I have had no response from anyone at Neotel. I'm beginning to wonder whether anyone works there.

This is not looking good for them. So far I have had nothing but dismal service from them.

No surprise there! I'm stilling waiting for a call to be resolved from Oct 2008, an external antenna that was supposed to be delivered in Nov 2008.

Are you able to connect at all to their network or this a problem that happens now and then? I usually get this during peak evening hours and retrying a couple of times usually gets me connected.

Hi, can you phone out on this phone? Silly question but valid. If not then your not connected, but if so check your settings:

username: 0218018018@neotel.co.za
password: 12345
number: #777 (include the hash - this is global number for ALL CDMA devices)

0218018018 must be your handsets number !

Stupid mode must be on - if you have the option.

I did have some issues the first day then things where fine until early December when they where working on the towers. Also had the same errors as you. Was resolved 2 days later and never had a problem again.

Yes, we can call out and receive calls. The phone portion works fine. I have configured the phone before for internet. We had a few problems when we got, but then were able to connect in the first month (November last year). Then we went on December break and when we came back in January it was no longer working properly. The device makes a connection successfully and we are even able to transfer a small amount of data (which reflects on the screen of the device), but then it disconnects within the first 30 seconds.

I got a call from the Neotel rep on the board here and she said I can PM her if I need more help. I also got a call from a Techie, but he spoke so softly I could not make out what he was saying in the message. Both numbers were listed as "private". I was in a training course the last two days so I could not take the calls. :(
