I tried it and while I like the very trimmed down interface I don't like the way the Gecko engine renders pages, not the final product but during rendering. I also find it to be less responsive than IE in general.

At the moment I'm using Avant Browser (http://www.avantbrowser.com). It includes everything you wished IE had (tabbed browsing, search bar etc.) plus it uses IE as the rendering engine, best of both worlds.

I am running both browsers at present. Firefox and Avant.
At first like everybody else I used IE. I slowly integrated my usage of Firefox slowly over a month or two. Now I run Firefox 95% of the time. I have just recently started using Avant. I like the browser, but I must get used to the new features. It is more difficult to use than Firefox, but as the next month or two goes by I will become comfortable with it I'm sure.
A slow Migration if I could put it that way.

Thanx for the heads-up - Firefox being my browser of choice since before it had to undergo a name change because of the fight with the database boys, very happy to have the 1.0 release, even though it is a PRE...

Yep BTTB, Avant is not very intuitive in its default setup but after spending some time customising the toolbars and checking through all the options I now have it looking and working the same as my IE setup. I still prefer the Firefox interface and simplicity but until the web becomes more "standards compliant" I'm going to stick to an IE based browser.
