I prefer all music from 50's to mid 90's, but most of all I prefer jazz no matter what the year

60's or late 80's early 90's.

Seeing that I was born in 1985. I'd say 90's, the music shifted from the catchy 80's feel to something more mature.
Rock: Live, Bush, Nirvana...
Rap & RnB: Blackstreet, Dru Hill, Biggie...
And only Daft Punk stood out for me.
Certainly this decade has been the worst. I'd say 60s and early 90s are the best

60's or late 80's early 90's.
Agreed.
This is/was the decade of the remakes.
That's a tough one as I like certain stuff out of each era! But the top 3 in no particular order would definitely be 60's, 70's and 90's!
To me the 00's up to current must be the worst era! They just don't write music like they used to, it's lost it's soul, it's personality and fallen into a category of mass-production! It's like everyone's just out there to make a quick buck!
The close of the 90's saw the close of an era!
(This is all just my own opinion)

I grew up listening to the Beatles (yes, I'm that old) and in each decade there was some real crap music that topped the charts.. granddad... birddance... are a couple that I can recall. I listen on the internet to Absolute classic rock when at home and that caters for most of my musical taste.
the 70's was worse than now, not by much, but definitely worse....
No it wasn't! I'm not talking Abba and Bee Gees here! I'm talking in the lines of Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Black Sabbath, Lynard Skynard (to name but a few) and a whole entourage of great rock bands to come from the 70's!
I grew up listening to the Beatles (yes, I'm that old) .
So did I and I'm only [-]85[/-] 23.

well honestly, I'd say each decade had it's ups and downs, the 00's is no different, however, in saying that, i think the 00's just had more *** music playing(the was a huge explosion of music that seemed to have happened in the 00)

It's just about impossible to say, especially if you're asking about music in general. For pop, probably the 60's and 80's.

Yip, it's an impossible question to answer. Boils down to personal preference which 99% of the time is based on age...
I downloaded a vid of an old tape of Aircraft incidents (crashes, close calls and such) and it has a 37 minute 80's rock soundtrack. I've myself loading the vid just to listen to the music. Gotta try found out the names of the songs though

somewhere in the early to mid nineties the focus of the record companies shifted even more towards marketing a product and making a quick buck than sourcing talent. there are a few exceptions here and there, but the past 15 or so years of commercial music is awful tripe.

Yip. So far the major exception here is Alan, and he's weird.

I enjoy rock, so take it from that.
Another vote for the 60's. It's the decade in which rock was born.
The 70's were just the 60's++
MTV killed the 80's.
I disagree with people who say the 90's though. Except for a few shining beacons of awsomeness the 90's were a wasteland of weakassed alternate rock, dance music, nu metal, bubblegum and boy/girl bands.
The 00's are also just the 90's++.

I'd say 60's or 70's. Anything but the 80's,there are only a few good things that came from the 80's - I would be one of the good thing, but other than that not much else :P .

My music collection is small. About 4 GB. But it has music from each of the mention eras in the OP.
I have a very eclectic taste in music and I've listened to numerous gems from all the eras. I cannot single one out.
You're weird.
Hey it had footage of a XB-70 Valkyrie. It had to be downloaded
Maybe you could identify the songs for me. 80s were good times for you no doubt, having hair and all :D
